Lists in Launch Center Pro
If you own an iPhone, you should definitely check out Launch Center Pro. We, iPhone users, have been claiming for Android-like shortcuts, and this is at close at it gets. And even better. You can open not only apps, but specific sections of apps as well.
For example, you can open your timeline, mentions or messages for any account you have set on Tweetbot, or create a new item inside a list in Clear. 1Password added support for it too, recently.
![The Nexus 7 and Android
Let’s start this post by saying this is not to rant about Android and say iOS is better. This is just me explaining my experience with Android (which a lot of people love and prefer over iOS).

I was reading this tablet comparison earlier and I thought I’d give my opinion on the matter. I don’t own a Surface, but since it’s only been out for a couple of days (at the time of this post), there’s no way to say if it works or not.
I’ve always been an iOS guy (if you look at my work it’s all for the iPhone, so that should give you a hint), but when I started reading about the Nexus 7 I felt I wanted one. First, it was the first decent 7-inch tablet and second, it ran Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. I had never owned an Android device and I wanted to use one and see if I liked it or not.
After a few months of playing with it, I can now write my impressions.
The device itself is great. I’ve installed lots of apps and added a few TV shows episodes and it still has the initial smoothness. Movies look fantastic on it, and it makes for a great picture slideshow device, too.
I love the 7-inch form factor. Being able to hold it in my hand is something I could never have done with the iPad (my hands are big, but not that big). It doesn’t feel heavy either, so you can watch movies, play games, read books… and you won’t feel the same fatigue as if it was another tablet.
But…
Even though I think Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is a great OS, I can’t say the same about the apps; I have to agree with Phil Schiller on this one. When I open the Google Play for the first time, I hoped I would find so many good free apps that I would never use the 20€ credit I got when bought the Nexus 7. Yeah, Angry Birds is free. But that’s it. Many other apps costed the same (or even more) than on iOS.
Besides that, there’s quality.
Most of the apps I downloaded are available on iOS, too. And some (like Dropbox, Adobe Reader or Spotify, to name a few) are far better and adapted to the tablet screen on iOS than Android.
Looking at my iPhone or iPad, I see many apps that I love and are not (and probably never will be) available for Android: Tweetbot, Clear, Letterpress, Coda 2, Apple Maps (just kidding)…
In Conclusion,
The Nexus 7 is a great tablet. If you don’t care about apps and you are fine with Android, go ahead. It’s cheap and it works great. But if you love going into the App Store and see what’s new, see what’s gone free for the day and enjoy great, new, good-looking apps, then you’ll have to get those extra $ and get an iPad. The good part is, you’ll not be disappointed.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mckpe7Nfb11r8wb53o1_1280.jpg)
